Stocking Stuffers Board Game Gift Guide

Updated: Nov 26

We are becoming masters of tiny games as we live in our tiny travel trailer. You will find many small games on all of our lists because of that. These are especially small for fitting into a stocking though.

If you want to see all of our gift guide posts, check out the main post here.

In the two-player, co-operative trick-taking game The Fox in the Forest Duet, players team up, helping each other move through the forest. Collect all the gems before the end of three rounds of play, and you win!

Not only is this game super small, it is also super challenging. A trick taking card game at its core, The Fox in the Forest Duet has you working together with your teammate to move back and forth across the board collecting rubies. It is so hard to beat but because of the quick play you can try again and again. It has three levels of play to up the challenge. The art is lovely and there is an interesting story to go with it as well.

The Mad Titan Thanos seeks the Infinity Stones to bend the universe to his indomitable will, but courageous heroes are assembling to stand in his path to ultimate power. Based on the beloved card game and set in the Marvel Universe, Infinity Gauntlet: A Love Letter Game features the elegant mechanics of the original, re-imagined in a one-vs-many twist for thrilling team play. While one player takes on the role of Thanos on a crusade to change the universe as we know it, 1-5 other players must deploy iconic heroes to defeat him before he can achieve his aims.

If you enjoy Love Letter and Avengers, you will love this game. There are some slight similarities to the Love Letter game, like quantity of cards and comparing numbers. This version is and all versus one game though. One player is Thanos and the rest are avengers trying to stop him. There are two asymmetrical decks too, so, Thanos plays differently from the rest.

Tinderblox sets players in a campfire setting, where each player will attempt to grow the fire! But watch out! Place the blocks badly and you risk burning down the camp!

Tinderblox is a super tiny mint tin sized game. It scratches that dexterity game itch but can play on the tiniest of tables. Stacking the blocks with a tweezers is so fun. This game is tiny enough even in play that you could do it on a tv tray and still have room for snacks. If you like games like Rhino Hero, Junk Art, and Jenga this is going to be a new favorite.

ROVE is a solo spatial puzzle game. In each game of ROVE, the player will face a series of mishaps that can only be solved by arranging the 6 module cards in a specific pattern. Moving a module requires Movement Points gained by discarding cards from hand for the listed amount. Players may gain additional Points if their current module layout matches the pattern shown on the discarded card.

We love solo gaming in our house. Sometimes it is nice to have quiet time alone. Rove is a super tough puzzle game set in space. This is also the newest game on our list. It releases on Black Friday. You can find it right here. All of the Button Shy Games come in a tiny wallet so they are all great picks for stocking stuffers. They have great quality and a huge variety of themes. Read the full review in this post.

In the co-operative trick-taking game The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine, the players set out as astronauts on an uncertain space adventure. What about the rumors about the unknown planet about? The eventful journey through space extends over 50 exciting missions. But this game can only be defeated by meeting common individual tasks of each player. In order to meet the varied challenges, communication is essential in the team. But this is more difficult than expected in space.

Yes, I suppose there are two trick taking games on this list. This one has a very different feel though and needs a minimum of three players. The game has a series of 50 missions all requiring different tricks to be taken in specific sequences. If you aren't a fan of the space theme you can also check out Mission Deep Sea. The game play is fun and exciting. The missions gradually escalate adding to the excitement.
