Snail Unit Study

Updated: Mar 11, 2022

This unit study contains a list of resources and activities for you to use in your studies. Choose those that will best suit your students, time, and learning environment. My hope is that you will enjoy the process of learning and not feel constricted by the timeline or activities. I do recommend that you read at least one book aloud together from each unit as it is something you can experience and enjoy together. Make changes as they suit your needs and enjoy your time learning together!

Snails Unit for Grades Preschool-2

Books

Escargot by Dashka Slater available on youtube

Bonjour! Escargot is a beautiful French snail who wants only two things: 1. To be your favorite animal. 2. To get to the delicious salad at the end of the book.

Let's Look at Snails by Laura Hamilton Waxman Available on SCRIBD

What animal hides in a shell, has a soft body, and can leave a slimy trail behind it when it moves? Snails! But do you know where snails live? Or what they like to eat? Read this book to find out!

Games

Snail Sprint

On your mark, get set...and off goes the slippery snail race in Mrs. Meyer's vegetable garden. The snails crawl over each other on the race up and over the magnetic tin to the three winner's podiums to receive the most points.
