Design a Game Project: Final Adjustments

Updated: Jun 14, 2021

How did all the play testing go? I hope you enjoyed some compliments and were gracious about the criticisms. We're in week 6 now. This week you are going to polish your stone into a gem. It's a short lesson, but you will need the work time.

You have gotten a lot of feedback from your game. Now it all needs to be applied to the final vision of what your game is going to be. The task this week is to finalize your game's design and write the final draft of your rules. Make sure you have someone proofread the rules too. If you haven't already, start thinking about how you want the final game to look. This is the last week of game design. Next week you start designing art and graphic design for your final product.

As a bonus activity this week, spend some time browsing The Game Crafter product page. See what is available for your game design. This is also a chance to price out the cost of your game. It will help you to understand the cost of board games in general as well. You may want to make adjustments to your game design based on your findings. If you plan to simply make a print and play or digital version, you could skip this step.

Homework

  • Finalize your game design

  • Write the final draft of your rules
